Resemble AI Agent Detection: A Tool That Tells People, Bots and AI Agents Apart on Your Website
Resemble AI launched Agent Detection on October 29, built on a behavioral model called RAD-S1. It answers a question nearly every website owner now faces: is the visitor on the other side of the screen a person, or an AI agent pretending to be one? Each session is classified as Person, AI Agent or Bot — based on how the visitor behaves, not on what it claims to be.
How it works
The model reads cursor movement, typing rhythm and on-page actions, alongside browser and environment signals. Because the verdict rests on behavior, the company says it can identify agents that run in real browsers and even disguise their identity — including agents on stealth browsers and agents that took over a clean browser session partway through. It ships as a 25KB script tag, uses no CAPTCHAs, and does not block or route traffic on its own: customers decide what to do with each verdict — allow the agent, redirect it to an API or MCP server, restrict it from sensitive areas, or stop destructive actions.
The numbers — and their limits
In internal testing across eight website stacks, RAD-S1 identified at least 98.8% of agents built to conceal their automation, while six widely used bot detection tools tested on the same visits identified between 3.1% and 14.8%. Those figures come from the company’s own testing, so independent verification will matter as the product reaches more sites. It is available now: a free tier covers the first one million sessions after adding a single script tag, with pricing beyond that at $1 per 1,000 sessions.
Why now
The launch comes a week after JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Bank of America and Charles Schwab moved to block AI agents such as Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s Dots from customer accounts, citing unresolved questions about liability when an agent acts on a customer’s behalf. Resemble’s argument, from CEO Zohaib Ahmed, is that detection comes first: if more than half of web traffic is agents, blocking all of them means losing real customers behind those agents — identify them, then decide which ones to serve, route or stop.
